About The Position

The Microsoft Fabric Platform Administrator is responsible for full platform ownership across administration, governance, monitoring, security, reliability, and cost efficiency for the enterprise analytics environment. The role ensures Microsoft Fabric and Power BI remain secure, scalable, well‑governed, continuously monitored, and optimized for performance, reliability, and cost across all business‑critical analytics workloads. Key responsibilities include end‑to‑end ownership of CI/CD deployments, deep integration with GitHub Enterprise, and strong emphasis on automation and operational excellence. The position leverages AI‑assisted tools to accelerate complex administrative, troubleshooting, optimization, governance, and audit‑related tasks, while enforcing enterprise data governance and compliance standards using Microsoft Purview. The role requires a hands‑on, technically strong platform owner capable of partnering with data engineering, BI, security, compliance, finance, and business teams to ensure a reliable, auditable, and cost‑efficient analytics ecosystem and the strong understanding of fabric Medallion Architecture.

Requirements

  • 0-2 Business Data Analytics, computer science, Information Technology/Systems or related field.
  • 2-4 years of Azure data and Microsoft fabric platform experience, certification, and/or technical experience will be considered for those candidates who have a proven track record in the field and handling responsibilities associated with the outlined job responsibilities/summary.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and govern the Microsoft Fabric platform, including workspaces, tenant settings, capacities, and core services using the Fabric Admin Portal and Azure Portal.
  • Design, maintain, and enforce Microsoft Fabric reference architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, and well governed platform patterns aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.
  • Support and operationalize Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) within Fabric and OneLake to support structured data ingestion, transformation, curation, and consumption across analytical workloads.
  • Configure, manage, and continuously optimize Fabric F SKU capacity settings to balance performance, reliability, governance, and cost efficiency.
  • Manage and optimize OneLake architecture, including shortcuts, cloud connections, on premises gateways, virtual network and shared data access patterns.
  • Monitor platform health and performance, including capacity utilization, refresh activity, concurrency, and telemetry across Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
  • Troubleshoot and remediate platform issues across pipelines, notebooks, semantic models, data refreshes, and CI/CD deployments, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive improvements.
  • Own and operate CI/CD deployment processes for Microsoft Fabric and Power BI assets using GitHub Enterprise, enforcing deployment standards and controls.
  • Identify, design, and promote automation opportunities across operational, governance, compliance, and remediation processes using Microsoft Fabric APIs, PowerShell, and Power Automate.
  • Design, implement, and maintain security and access controls, including RBAC models, data access policies, and governance standards using Microsoft Entra ID and Active Directory.
  • Partner with data governance teams to support data mapping, classification, lineage, and unified catalog implementation using Microsoft Purview.
  • Leverage Azure Key Vault for secure secrets management, credential handling, and encryption support across Fabric workloads.
  • Monitor Fabric consumption and cost patterns, optimizing usage and assisting IT leadership with cost transparency, forecasting, and capacity planning.
  • Maintain platform documentation and operational readiness, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, incident playbooks, service desk routing procedures, and stakeholder education on platform standards and best practices.
