About The Position

The Collins home office government accounting team supports the corporation by managing government cost accounting and compliance activities in the central functions that facilitate business with the U.S. Government. The team works across a broad finance network and collaborates frequently with government oversight agencies. Operating in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, the team partners with business units to support strategic priorities, ensure appropriate cost recovery, and uphold an unwavering commitment to regulatory compliance. The successful candidate brings strong financial analysis and cost accounting expertise and demonstrates leadership, critical thinking, sound business judgment, and clear, effective communication across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum of 5 years of experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance
  • Experience supporting internal or external audits

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with relevant Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisitions Regulations (FAR)
  • Prior association / interaction with DCAA and DCMA
  • Extensive experience balancing multiple priorities and producing quality work within a given timeframe
  • Strong Microsoft Excel ability is required, while proficiency with Microsoft Access and SAP is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to effectively summarize analyses and communicate at various levels

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the Collins Intermediate Level Home Office forward pricing rate proposals and incurred cost submissions.
  • Calculate the Collins ILHO allocation bases.
  • Maintain the Collins ILHO disclosure statement.
  • Respond to requests from the Defense Contract Audit Agency and the Defense Contract Management Agency
  • Support DCAA, DCMA, and internal audits.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies, Cost Accounting Standards, the Federal Acquisition Regulation, and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement.
  • Support government-related aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, transformation initiatives, and other company-wide projects.
  • Travel up to 5%
