About The Position

Plans, designs and constructs manufacturing facilities and related structures | Determines facility specifications, including analysis and evaluation of location, material resources and structural design | Resolves technical problems and recommends production improvements Impact of the Role General Profile Requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience Completes a variety of atypical assignments Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments Works with a limited degree of supervision, with oversight focused only on complex new assignments Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience Performs manual tasks according to established procedures

Requirements

• Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 5-7 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
• Oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Engineering support.
• Manufacturing engineering.
• Test execution.
• Test documentation.
• Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
• Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
• May need to stand for long periods of time.
• Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
• May be requested to work a different shift.
• This position is Safety-Sensitive.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to engineers during the design of manufacturing processes for a production facility.
• Assists in the development of layouts or floor plans, conducts tests and troubleshoots equipment.
• Documents test procedures and results.
• Solves routine technical problems.
• Trains subordinate personnel in the various Manufacturing Engineering techniques.
