About The Position

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. JOB SUMMARY -- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES Working under general technical guidance, a Metrology Technician II specializes in ground-based electronic systems and works on various types of electronic equipment and related devices. Employee will be responsible for the following functions/duties:

Requirements

  • Education and/or training in electronics from an accredited college, technical school, or equivalent military training, completion of a metrology training and certification program, and a minimum of three years of direct experience in a metrology position are required for this position.
  • International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics
  • Good understanding of electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems
  • Good understanding of test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot to the component level and competency in soldering.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the USAF Metrology and Calibration Program or equivalent
  • Experience in the Microwave RF section of a calibration laboratory
  • Familiarity with advance RF/microwave test equipment and measurement techniques
  • Military calibration experience
  • Associate degree or technical training in electronics (or equivalent military training)
  • Completion of a metrology training and certification program
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in calibration and repair of electronic test equipment
  • Demonstrated proficiency in general electronics and computer systems

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform calibration, certification, and repair of electronic and physical/dimensional test measurement diagnostic equipment (TMDE)
  • Ensure traceability to National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) or equivalent standards
  • Apply measurement science principles to analyze accuracy, precision, and uncertainty
  • Diagnose and repair complex equipment using schematics, diagrams, and software diagnostics
  • Identify and quantify sources of measurement error and uncertainty
  • Interpret and document calibration results, including certificates and correction charts
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections for safety, cleanliness, and performance
  • Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives
  • Strong foundation in calibration of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, and test equipment
  • Knowledge in calibration traceability, metrology techniques, laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Experience with calibration methods, measurement analysis, and technical problem-solving
  • Working knowledge of quality systems such as ISO 17025, ANSI Z540, or USAF standards
  • Ability to perform basic to advanced mathematical computations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs to include advanced software applications
  • Ability to work independently and manage technical tasks efficiently
  • Perform other job-related duties, as required
