About The Position

National Grid is seeking Meter Service Representatives in the Beverly, Amesbury, Malden and Lowell area. We are a major electricity and gas delivery company with one of the largest electricity transmission and distribution systems in the Northeast. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a good driving record and be focused on customer, personal and co-worker safety. This job will rotate throughout various locations within Greater Boston and candidates will work within the natural gas side of the operation to provide timely and quality service to our customers while maintaining high customer service. Please note that to better represent the communities weserve, applicants must either currently live in or be able to relocate to within 30 miles of Beverly. In order to proceed in the process, you must be able to pass pre-employment assessments, including a demonstration of job skills, background check and drug/alcohol and physical screening. Many of the terms and conditions of employment for this position are defined by a collective bargaining agreement that the Company has with a local union. Newly hired employees are bound by the terms of the collective bargaining agreement as well as other agreements between the Company and the local union. Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
Must have good mechanical aptitude and ability, high degree of dependability, and capable of exercising good judgment.
Must pass Company physical and qualifying tests.
Valid drivers license along with a safe driving history required
Must be in good physical condition
Must be an approved driver of Company trucks
