SummaryRead and record Electric meter reads as assigned. Report hazards, energy diversion and any other matters relating to metering of electricity. Report all meter accessibility problems, Route or meter reading district problems.

Requirements

  • Recognize and avoid hazards.
  • Maintain concentration, think and act clearly in emergency or stressful situations when working alone using appropriate judgment.
  • Identify and prioritize multiple assignments and issues, conflicting demands and manage according to priority.
  • Communicate and cooperate with co-workers, leaders and customers.
  • Read, interpret and follow written instructions/directions.
  • Must be physically capable of handling all job requirements
  • Must be able to learn to read multiple different meter types including 5 dial electric meter
  • Have knowledge of different meter types and read fields
  • Must be able to learn the ITRON FCS system
  • Must live within reasonable distance
  • Reasonable and necessary overtime work will be required
  • Qualifying tests may be given
  • Must maintain acceptable quality and quantity of work as determined by supervisor
  • This position requires working with aerial equipment, which has weight restrictions of 300 lbs or less
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • Pass APS physical exam (drug test, etc.).
