About The Position

McElroy Metal is a leading manufacturer of metal roofing, metal siding and sub-structural components with 14 manufacturing facilities, 28 Service Centers and 44 Metal Mart locations across the US. After three generations of family ownership, McElroy transitioned to an employee-owned company (ESOP) in 2023 . As a show of appreciation, McElroy Metal team members are now employee owners of McElroy Metal.” An opening currently exists for an Operations Manager at our Adelanto, California plant. This exempt level position will lead, plan, direct, and coordinate all manufacturing activities at the Adelanto Plant. This position reports to the Regional Operations Manager. Hours 8:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F

Requirements

  • Proven leadership skills and employee motivation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience.
  • 10 years of industrial/manufacturing experience.
  • 5 years of metal building or construction related experience.
  • Proficient PC skills.
  • Current Driver’s License. (A motor vehicle report (MVR) will be run to assure the successful candidate can service the assigned territory.)

Responsibilities

  • Directs production and ensures cost effectiveness and consistency with prescribed quality, performance and safety standards.
  • Manages inventory to maintain adequate stocking levels to meet established service expectations while ensuring inventory turns that contribute to a positive profitability.
  • Assures effective customer service and relations through timely delivery of a quality product.
  • Oversees freight operations including contract carriers and dedicated carriers.
  • Selects, trains, develops, leads and motivates manufacturing and administrative staff to maintain a high performing operations team.
  • Works with managers on budgets, payroll, credit, traffic, etc. to operate the plant with a high level of service and effectiveness at the lowest possible cost.
  • Ensures compliance of all plant operations with company policy and federal, state and local regulations.
