About The Position

Directly responsible for the effectiveness of all kitchen operations and training functions including food purchasing, preparation, and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; training of employees in methods of cooking, preparation, plate presentation, portion and cost control and sanitation and cleanliness. Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in high volume fine dining environment
  • Proven experience in sushi or culinary experience in a similar role
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of kitchen equipment use and operation
  • Strong attention to detail, consistency, and presentation
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Outstanding leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and service teams
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Food Handler or ServSafe certification required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sushi and other dishes with precision and consistency and attention to presentation
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and freshness and plating
  • Properly handle, store, and prepare fresh seafood and ingredients in compliance with food safety regulations
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef, kitchen, and service teams to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Assist in training and mentoring kitchen staff in culinary techniques, portioning, and plating
  • Outstanding leadership, management, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
