About The Position

The Merchandising Product Resource Assistant in the Merchandising Department serves as the primary point of contact for all samples entering the buying department. This role provides timely communication to each buying team regarding what has arrived and where samples can be located for review.This position also supports buying teams in coordinating the flow of samples throughout the new product process, including final resolution and disposal. Responsibilities include sample assembly and instruction testing to ensure product accuracy and functionality. The Product Resource Assistant partners closely with buying teams to support sample needs across the business. This includes collaboration with the Distribution Center, Facilities, Creative and Online teams, and Visual Merchandising, as well as responding to any additional sample-related inquiries. Strong communication skills are essential to effectively work across these groups. This is a salaried, full-time, in-office position.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all product samples for the merchandising department assisting all buying teams and Merchandisers in the organization and disposal of samples from the sample room and the Mock Store.
  • Assists buying teams and merchandisers in keeping up with where the samples are going and how many samples there are for each sku.
  • Assists Buying Teams with transporting samples to and from vendor meeting rooms.
  • Ensures the accuracy and integrity of product dimensions and function by assembly and instructions and product testing.
  • Ensures that all final new product samples are reviewed by Buying Teams before putting away in sample room or releasing to photography studio.
  • Manages all samples and samples that are being used as props for photo shoot, video production and online photography, ensuring the timely delivery to the studio and partnering with teams to put samples away.
  • Responsible for tracking vendor samples, unpacking all inbound mail for the buying teams and putting them away or transferring to Mock Store.
  • Responsible for mailing all international and domestic product samples.
  • Supports Buying Teams with data entry projects using the Merchandising Management System ensuring accuracy and with specific deadlines.
  • Ensures that the sample room and mock store are kept clean by taking trash out and sweeping and making sure that each area has all of the supplies it needs to continue to be and effective tool for all teams.
  • Ensures accuracy and confidence in the consistent timely completion of all assigned tasks.
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information.
  • Performs other tasks and duties that may arise to support the business.
