About The Position

The Merchandising Coordinator at HomeGoods, part of TJX Companies, is responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates process merchandise efficiently and effectively as a team. This role is crucial for delivering an excellent customer experience through engaging interactions and maintaining a clean, organized store environment. The coordinator is expected to role model exceptional customer service, foster a positive internal and external customer experience, and uphold a culture of honesty and integrity. Key duties include orchestrating truck deliveries, prioritizing merchandise processing to the sales floor, and training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles. The coordinator ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, and communicates with the Coordinator on Duty to maintain an efficient flow of goods. They monitor team productivity, provide coaching, organize back stock for replenishment, and maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards. The role also involves upholding organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom, ensuring compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, and effective communication with management and Associates. They provide and accept feedback, collaborate with Management on Associate training, ensure adherence to policies and procedures, promote credit and loyalty programs, support shrink reduction goals, and maintain a safe environment. Requirements

Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends

1 year retail experience
6 months of leadership experience

Responsibilities

Executing receiving and merchandising standards
Ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team
Ensuring an excellent customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store
Role modeling exceptional customer service
Creating a positive internal and external customer experience
Promoting a culture of honesty and integrity; maintaining confidentiality
Orchestrating truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
Training and mentoring Associates on established merchandising and processing principles
Ensuring merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
Communicating with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to sales floor
Ensuring Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan; prioritizing as needed
Monitoring productivity of team and coaching as necessary
Organizing and rotating back stock for easy replenishment
Maintaining and upholding merchandising philosophy and signage standards
Maintaining all organizational, cleanliness and recovery standards for the backroom area
Ensuring compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs
Communicating accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities; providing progress updates
Providing and accepting recognition and constructive feedback
Partnering with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
Ensuring adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
Promoting credit and loyalty programs
Supporting and participating in store shrink reduction goals and programs
Promoting safety awareness and maintaining a safe environment
