The Morenci operations, an open-pit copper mining complex located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona, has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation includes two concentrators, a crushed-ore leach pad and stacking system, a low-grade run-of-mine (ROM) leaching system, four SX plants, and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode. The dedicated Parks and Recreation Division plans activities for all ages. Under general supervision, the Mercantile Associate - Server ensures patrons have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service. This includes greeting and seating guests, answering menu questions, taking and serving food and beverage orders (including age verification for alcohol), checking on guests, maintaining restaurant cleanliness, preparing checks, balancing receipts, and stocking service areas.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain position-specific certifications within 1 month of employment (e.g., Food Handler, Arizona Title 4 Alcohol Training)
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain positive guest and working relationships

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that patrons have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service
  • Greet and escort guests to tables
  • Answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations
  • Take food and beverage orders and serve dishes and drinks, including verifying age for alcohol service
  • Check in with guests during their meals and address any concerns
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant, including clearing tables
  • Prepare itemized checks and balance receipts
  • Stock service areas with necessary supplies
  • Perform other duties as required to support restaurant operations
