Hear from Michael Whitlock on what it's like to work at Sabey: https://youtu.be/Ge4xav-SmVU About This Role As an MEP Superintendent, you will oversee the full lifecycle of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction activities in the field, ensuring work is executed safely, on schedule, and in alignment with design and quality standards. You will serve as a critical connector between subcontractors, project leadership, and operations teams, helping drive coordination and accountability across all MEP scopes. This role is ideal for a seasoned field leader who thrives in complex environments and takes pride in delivering highly technical projects with precision. You’ll play a central role in managing subcontractors, supporting commissioning efforts, and maintaining alignment with strict operational and safety requirements typical of mission-critical facilities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of field experience in commercial construction with supervisory responsibility
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience managing MEP scopes in complex construction environments
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong working knowledge of construction scheduling and project delivery in fast-track environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.) and scheduling tools
  • Ability to effectively lead subcontractors and coordinate across multiple trades
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of a project team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities without compromising safety or quality
  • Customer-focused mindset with professionalism in interactions with clients, tenants, and partners
  • Willingness to adopt and leverage new technologies, including AI tools

Responsibilities

  • Leading day-to-day oversight of MEP construction activities to ensure alignment with design, budget, and schedule
  • Coordinating and supervising subcontractors and vendors to drive productivity, quality, and contract compliance
  • Supporting development and maintenance of construction schedules, proactively identifying and communicating impacts
  • Managing material delivery logistics and ensuring site security and loss prevention measures are in place
  • Enforcing safety policies and promoting a strong safety culture across all field operations
  • Leading weekly subcontractor coordination meetings and facilitating clear communication across trades
  • Overseeing and supporting the commissioning process for MEP systems
  • Partnering with facility operations teams to ensure adherence to Methods of Procedure (MOPs)
  • Monitoring subcontractor performance to ensure quality control and minimize punch list items
  • Driving pre-punch and final punch list completion in coordination with project stakeholders
  • Reviewing subcontractor invoices and change orders, providing recommendations to project leadership
  • Documenting field changes, as-built conditions, and daily construction progress
