About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking experienced Mental Health Therapy Aides (MHTs) to support a Children and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit . This role involves providing direct and indirect patient care in an acute behavioral health setting. The MHT works under the supervision of licensed nursing staff to ensure patient safety, therapeutic engagement, and continuity of care while maintaining a structured and supportive treatment environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of Mental Health Therapy Aide experience ( 2 years preferred )
• Required experience in psychiatric/behavioral health settings
• Current CPR Certification
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric or adolescent behavioral health experience preferred
• Prior inpatient mental health experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care under nursing supervision
• Monitor patients and perform scheduled safety checks
• Obtain, record, and report vital signs accurately
• Assist with patient admissions, documentation, and unit orientation
• Support physical examinations and patient assessments
• Collect specimens and monitor intake and output as required
• Safely transport patients within the facility
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and hygiene needs
• Engage patients in therapeutic and structured activities
• Observe, document, and report patient behaviors and responses to treatment
• Intervene appropriately during crisis situations to ensure patient safety
• Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic unit environment
• Apply age-appropriate clinical and psychological interventions
• Communicate patient information clearly to nursing and clinical staff
• Participate in unit operations and team-based care activities
• Document care accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
