About The Position

Seeking experienced Mental Health Therapy Aides (MHTs) to support a Child and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit . This role involves providing direct and indirect patient care while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for pediatric behavioral health patients.

Requirements

CPR Certification (required)
Minimum 1 year of experience required
Psychiatric experience required
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
Age-appropriate clinical and psychological interventions
Observation and accurate reporting of patient behaviors
Ability to work with minimal orientation and supervision
Commitment to patient safety and therapeutic care

Nice To Haves

2 years preferred
Pediatric behavioral health experience preferred
Prior inpatient healthcare experience preferred

Responsibilities

Provide direct and indirect patient care under nursing supervision
Monitor and record vital signs and patient intake/output
Assist with patient admissions, documentation, and unit orientation
Support patient hygiene and activities of daily living (ADLs)
Develop therapeutic relationships and interact with patients during structured activities
Intervene during crisis situations and maintain a safe treatment environment
Perform routine safety checks during assigned shifts
Observe and report patient responses to treatments and interventions
Assist with specimen collection, patient transport, and physical examinations as appropriate
Communicate patient status and concerns accurately and promptly to nursing staff
Participate in unit-based activities and support overall unit operations
