About The Position

Join MiraVista as a Mental Health Technician in Holyoke, Massachusetts. This full-time position, working 32 hours on evening shifts (3:00pm - 11:30pm) including every other weekend and holiday rotation, is an integral part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. You will provide direct care and support to patients and their families, making decisions that impact lives. The role involves maintaining a safe therapeutic milieu on inpatient behavioral health units, conducting safety checks, monitoring patients, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), de-escalating acute situations, and providing supportive interactions with patients.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Previous PCT/PCA, CNA or Medical Assistant experience required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelors degree in psychology or human services field preferred.
• Previous experience in psychiatric or substance inpatient, restraint reduction de-escalation, and crisis intervention is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient observation and rounds.
• Assists staff with patient care while following treatment plans.
• Observe and monitor patients progress and reports observations to staff.
• Develop a therapeutic relationship with patients while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living skills, as necessary.
• Provide appropriate supervision of patients activities.
• Responsible for safety monitoring of patients of the unit.
• Process admissions belongings.
• Complete documentation in the EMR system.
• Facilitate patient groups.
• Work collaboratively with the Interdisciplinary Team
• Required to float to all units as needed
