About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS (Other Personal Services) position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL, in the Office of Health Services. The mission of the Office of Health Services in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to provide comprehensive, quality healthcare to inmates in a manner that is professional, ethical, and cost-effective.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Knowledge of the components of a multi-disciplinary mental health system, including psychology, psychiatry, mental health nursing, professional counseling.
  • Knowledge of the standards of care for persons with mental impairments.
  • Knowledge of the theories and principles of psychology.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret psychological data.
  • Must possess a Master’s degree.
  • Must be a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in accordance with FL 491.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct oversight of the mental health re-entry program.
  • Responsible for the monitoring and coordination of release planning for inmates with medical continuity of care requirements, including inmates with co-occurring sex offenses.
  • Oversee performance of the Department’s Mental Health Re-Entry Program from the health care contractor(s) to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Provides backup to Transfer Coordinator and Clinical Contract Monitor Manager.
  • This position also oversees the performance by the health care contractor to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions and FDC policies and procedures.
  • Approves and tracks Corrective Action Plans for failed contract monitoring measures.

You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled.
