About The Position

The Family Based Mental Health Professional is a member of the Family Based Mental Health Program and provides therapy to children, adolescents, and their families in the home and community settings. The works includes utilization of various therapeutic methods and techniques as applicable to youth and/or families experiencing problems related to mental health and family crisis. The Family Based Mental Health Professional provides individual and family crisis intervention. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling required. (Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience)
  • 1+ years' experience working in a Child and Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) working in family services and crisis intervention
  • Successfully participate with the three-year WPIC training program in Structural Family Therapy.
  • Planning and time management as well as strong organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, along with access to a vehicle
  • Management of work processes along with strong computer skills for documentation purposes.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information within HIPAA guidelines and organizational policies.
  • Ability to be flexible especially with scheduling and site locations and to perform and prioritize multiple functions and tasks.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationship with professional team, parents, schools, CYF and JPO systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct mental health services for children and adolescents in their home and/or community setting who are on the verge of a crisis, in the midst of a crisis, or on the verge of an out-of-home placement.
  • Implement and maintain the Family Based program's philosophy, principles, and procedures in all facets of performance.
  • Provide individual and family therapy with children, adolescents, and families.
  • Provide assessment of strengths and therapeutic needs of child and families.
  • Conduct case management for the family to ensure all referrals and resources are put into place.
  • Determine the clinical need for special evaluations and services.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation per assigned standards.
  • Provide crisis intervention on an on-call rotation / Responsible for answering the crisis phone and handling all crisis situations for assigned week on an on-call rotation
