About The Position

Thank you for your interest in employment with Southeastern Louisiana University. Southeastern Louisiana University’s Counseling Center invites applications for the position of Mental Health Counselor. The Mental Health Counselor reports directly to the Director for the University Counseling Center. This position is in alignment with the mission of the center to meet the campus needs through services. The Mental Health Counselor position provides the most direct services here at the UCC. The Mental Health Counselor also serves the UCC through participating in outreach programs as assigned, serving in crisis on-call coverage. Upon full licensure the Mental Health Counselor will serve as a site supervisor to assist in the training aspect of the UCC’s Mission. This position will be responsible will provide mental health counseling and psychotherapy to the University, Counseling Center clients, Alternate 24-hour on-call duty, participate in campus outreach programs, provide supervision for practicum/internship students once fully licensed (LPC), Assist departments campus-wide with students regarding mental health situations, Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling or a related field from an accredited university (CACREP) by hire date
  • Licensed professional (PLPC or LPC), or eligible for licensure
  • Mental health counseling/consultation

Responsibilities
