About The Position

The University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh invites applications for the position of Head Men’s Basketball Coach to lead the men's basketball program within a comprehensive NCAA Division III athletics environment. This position is responsible for all aspects of program development, competitive success, student-athlete experience, and integration within the broader mission of the university and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The Head Coach will establish a sustainable, student-centered program aligned with institutional values, NCAA regulations, and Title IX compliance while building meaningful connections with alumni, campus partners, and the regional men's basketball community. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 2–5 years of collegiate coaching experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a collegiate basketball program.
Proven evidence of success in recruiting, player development, and team culture building.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a collaborative leadership style.
Demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy and student-athlete academic success.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Compliance & Administration Ensure full compliance with NCAA, WIAC, and university policies.
Manage program budget responsibly and align expenditures with departmental priorities.
Collaborate with athletic training, strength & conditioning, academic support, and compliance staff.
Recruitment & Student-Athlete Development Lead recruiting efforts to attract academically qualified student-athletes aligned with UW Oshkosh standards.
Support student-athlete academic progress, retention, and graduation.
Promote holistic development including leadership, community engagement, and career readiness.
Program Leadership & Competitive Excellence Direct all phases of the men’s basketball program including planning, recruitment, training, competition, and evaluation.
Design and implement a comprehensive program model emphasizing student-athlete development, competitive performance, and academic success.
Establish a culture of accountability, integrity, and leadership consistent with NCAA Division III philosophy.
Manage scheduling, travel, equipment, and operational logistics.
External Engagement & Advancement Build and maintain strong relationships within the basketball community at the local, regional, and national levels.
Cultivate alumni relationships and participate in donor engagement, fundraising, and program advocacy.
Represent UW Oshkosh Athletics with professionalism and visibility in the community and conference and national settings.
Campus & Department Collaboration Work collaboratively across the athletics department and university community to advance institutional goals.
Serve as a partner to faculty, student affairs, enrollment management, and campus leadership.
Contribute to departmental initiatives, strategic planning, and student-athlete welfare efforts.
