About The Position

The Memory Care Director (MCD) serves as the dementia care expert for the community, leading all aspects of the Memory Care Program and playing a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being, safety, and comfort for the Currents residents. This role encompasses oversight of memory care staff, implementation of Maplewood standards and best practices, and the development and execution of specialized service plans tailored to each resident's unique needs. The Director collaborates closely with other department heads, family members, program staff, and care staff to ensure the delivery of the highest quality of care, lifestyle, therapeutic environment, and interventions. Key responsibilities also include continuous staff training on the latest memory care best practices, monitoring resident progress, and adjusting approaches and protocols as needed. Furthermore, the MCD liaises with families to provide regular updates, support, and education, and ensures compliance with state regulations and company policies. The ultimate goal is to foster a nurturing environment that promotes dignity, wellbeing, engagement, safety, and a high quality of life for residents living with dementia.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dementia care expert for the community

  • Conduct continuous staff training on the latest memory care best practices
  • Monitor resident progress, and adjust approaches and protocols as needed
  • Liaise with families to provide regular updates, support, and education
  • Ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies
  • Work to create a nurturing environment that promotes dignity, wellbeing, engagement, safety and a high quality of life for our residents living with dementia
