Position Summary The Memory Care Director is the operational and cultural leader of our Flourish Memory Care Neighborhood. This leader must embody empathy, professionalism, creativity, and sound judgment—balancing regulatory compliance with a genuine passion for enhancing the lives of seniors.

Requirements

Education : Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred (Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Human Development, Psychology, or related field)
Experience : - Minimum 3 years working with seniors - At least 1+ year dedicated to dementia care - Strong background in Memory Care programming, behavioral support, and family/staff education
Leadership Competencies : - Staff development, team leadership, and change management - Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills - Effective communication and family partnership
Personal Attributes : - Compassionate, proactive, detail-oriented, adaptable, and results-driven

Nice To Haves

Certifications (preferred): - Activities Director Certification - Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist - Certified Dementia Practitioner - Or equivalent dementia-care credentials

Responsibilities

Overseeing daily operations and ensuring all program standards, policies, and state regulations are met
Implementing Charter's Flourish Memory Care philosophy, including Restore, Enrich, Connect, Create, Engage, and Contribute
Leading and developing Memory Care staff, fostering a high-performance, compassionate, resident-centered team
Designing and managing therapeutic programming, life enrichment, and engagement activities
Partnering with leadership on service planning, quality assurance, and occupancy development
Supporting families through education, communication, and collaboration
Maintaining a warm, safe, and purposeful environment for residents living with dementia
