About The Position

The Membership Manager is responsible for cultivating new chamber members and stewarding current members to ensure member engagement and satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Membership Managers must be able to travel independently. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required. High amount of mobility is necessary. Extensive local and potentially regional travel may be required. Position requires a professional demeanor and an orientation toward customer service with exceptional relationship-building skills. Ability to manage sales pipeline and outperform sales goals. Ability to provide stewardship to Chamber members. Position requires ability to sit for extended periods of time in an office environment while utilizing a telephone, keyboard, mouse and monitor. Position requires some extended periods of standing.

Requirements

  • A performance mindset with a demonstrated track record of high-level sales or fundraising success.
  • Must be comfortable with the use of technology and have database experience.
  • Extremely strong organizational, written / verbal communication skills.
  • Executive presence with the ability to provide presentations to individuals or groups.
  • Internal drive with the ability to set and achieve goals.
  • Community-minded and engaged.
  • Local and potentially some regional travel required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
  • Has a passion for building and maintaining relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous business-to-business sales experience or experience working with corporate donors preferred.
  • Degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or business or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential Chamber members and schedule appointments and presentations as necessary to recruit new members and retain existing members.
  • Effectively represent the Chamber by staying informed about the organization’s goals, objectives, programs and activities.
  • Meet minimum activity requirements and accurately follow membership management process.
  • Attend Chamber events to communicate with current and prospective members.
  • Utilize membership database to maintain a record of contacts with prospects and members.
  • Provide high quality customer service.
