About the role Backend engineering at Envoy powers the systems that make workplace experiences seamless, secure, and reliable at scale. Every API you design, every schema you model, and every system you optimize directly supports millions of workplace interactions across tens of thousands of locations worldwide. As a Fullstack Engineer in this role, you'll own meaningful product areas end-to-end — from shaping technical design to delivering scalable, production-ready systems. You'll partner closely with Product, Design, and Frontend Engineering to translate complex requirements into resilient backend architectures. You'll still work across the stack, but your primary ownership will live on the backend. This role requires strong technical judgment, product thinking, and a high-quality bar. The systems you build must be reliable, performant, and maintainable under real-world constraints. Role Lean: Backend (70/30) This role requires deeper backend expertise. System design, API architecture, and data modeling are the primary focus. Frontend fluency is expected but not the center of gravity.
