Basic Job Functions: The Melt Shop Manager's chief responsibility is to deliver on our commitment to become the world's safest steel company by providing systems and processes that facilitate solutions for our team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: establishing a clear vision and strategy that will allow the teams to execute and optimize safety, plus operational excellence in quality, costs, productivity, profitability, and environmental stewardship. This individual must take an active role in developing all leaders within the division. Some travel is required.     Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • At least five years leadership experience
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Leadership experience with EAF and Casting

Nice To Haves

  • Four year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • Three + years of department manager experience
