About The Position

The Pouring/ Melt Technician role performs any combination of the following tasks in the foundry concerned with melting and pouring of the molds, following furnace procedures, keeping a detailed inventory of metals, moving foundry materials, cleaning equipment, and maintaining safe work areas.

Requirements

  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours a day
  • Ability to work with hands in repetitive motions for 8+ hours a day
  • No experience needed with melt/pouring, but manufacturing is preferred.
  • Steel toe work boots
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and be willing to submit to a national background check.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Pouring quality castings
  • Keeping a proper record of parts produced
  • Properly maintaining detailed pour logs
  • Revert metal organization
  • Developing safe pouring practices
  • Logging any scrap and solve any quality issues
  • Utilizing spectrometers
  • Familiar with different metals and pouring different alloys
  • Operation of a crane
  • Repair furnace & front troughs.
  • Reline, repairs, or operate ladles, tundish ladles, dwell units, troughs & iron runners, slagger, cupola.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
