Medication Utilization Strategy Pharmacist
About The Position
Ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection dosage regimen design effective administration and drug therapy monitoring services in the UVA Medical Center. Monitors inpatient and outpatient drug therapies when appropriate and works with relating medical staff to find alternatives when needed to ensure the best care possible is being given. As a Medication Utilization Strategy Pharmacist , you'll help design how medications are managed across the enterprise—impacting care for entire populations, not just individual patients. About the Role This is not your typical administrative position. You'll be the architect behind the medication use process in Epic , ensuring safe, effective, and efficient use of medications across ambulatory, infusion, and community health settings. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or Pharm. D required
- Licensed to practice as a Pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- No experience required
Nice To Haves
- Pharm. D from an ACPE accredited college of Pharmacy
- Prior experience in an Inpatient hospital Pharmacy setting, and/or experience in clinical infusion Pharmacy settings.

- Review and evaluate medications for addition to formulary
- Oversee and optimize medication and EHR build and operational workflows to support safe and effective medication use.
- Collaborate with clinical teams across the enterprise to ensure formulary compliance.
- Drive system-level strategies that improve medication utilization and operational excellence.
