About The Position

Medical Transcriptionist for Endocrinologist(s) The Medical Transcriptionist is responsible for transcribing, for an endocrinologist, patient reports, letters, and pre-op consultations in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy. Transcribed reports and dictated material are reviewed for spelling, grammar, clarity, consistency, and proper medical terminology. Edits are appropriately made. Where applicable, reference materials are used to verify new medications and confirm accuracy of report. The medical transcriptionist must possess knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic procedures. This position is also responsible for maintaining lists of patients in numerous clinical trials and sending correspondence to the patients with their lab data as well as next steps in the Trial. Importantly, the Transcriptionist must adhere to legal requirements for medical report style and confidentiality requirements, strictly abiding by HIPAA.   • Making appropriate edits to transcribed material.
  • Using reference materials to verify new medications and confirm report accuracy.
  • Maintaining lists of patients in clinical trials.
  • Sending correspondence to patients with lab data and next steps in the Trial.
  • Adhering to legal requirements for medical report style and confidentiality requirements, strictly abiding by HIPAA.
