About The Position

Central Vermont Medical Center, Inc. is seeking Medical Technologists for multiple openings at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin, VT. The role involves performing routine and highly complex laboratory analyses on clinical specimens. The Medical Technologist will work under the direct supervision of a qualified Manager.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Medical Technology or a directly related field
• Ability to work independently on weekends, afternoon and night shifts
• Possession of an ICHP Visa Screen Certificate, if applicable
• American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Board Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist

Responsibilities

• Performing clinical and proficiency tests under the direct supervision of a qualified Manager
• Performing quality control procedures as required by the Manager, evaluating quality control results before proceeding with clinical testing, recording all quality control results and taking necessary corrective actions
• Accurately and efficiently utilizing LIS by using appropriate comments and codes, entering and monitoring QC data, daily backup and status (pending) lists
• Performing all routine scheduled equipment maintenance, following troubleshooting procedures when equipment malfunctions, completing all maintenance record keeping documents
• Collecting or aiding in the collection of patient specimens for testing
