Requirements

  • Have graduated from high school obtaining a diploma or an equivalent GED.
  • Have good communication and people skills.
  • Have good work ethic, being punctual and working the days scheduled to work.
  • Have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows.

Responsibilities

  • Answer the telephone and refer calls to proper person.
  • Answers general questions about the respective program (behavioral health, optometry, administration, audiology, etc.), e.g., hours of clinic, procedures for making appointments.
  • Greets and receives patients and has patient complete patient information forms.
  • Create and manage records using computer software.
  • Responsible for providing information about the organization to the public or for routing customers' questions to the appropriate person.
  • Receives patients, explains method of procedures, sets up and adjusts accessory equipment and performs required procedures.
  • Coordinates the appointment system including compiling appointment system data, mailing of appointment notices, appropriate handling of waiting lists and other appointment system duties.
  • Responds to patient concerns and/or complaints and assists patients with documenting an official complaint and/or coordinating with department supervisor for timely resolution.
  • Assists with consults, coordination of care, and referrals for patients.
  • Assess and interpret varying situations to determine proper action to take and must assess conditions and situation over the telephone or via audible alarm system in order to provide proper response, i.e. medical, fire, security or police services.
  • Incumbent must be able to execute numerous emergency procedures and responses at the same time.
  • Maintains and utilizes the Resource Patient Management System (RPMS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
