SUMMARY: Reports to the Medical Staff Services Credentials Manager and is responsible for the coordination of credentialing (initial credentialing and/or re-credentialing) of the medical staff and allied health professionals for all Brown University Health affiliated hospitals. Primary responsibility is the timely completion of credentialing and/or re-credentialing processes and the maintenance of comprehensive physician databases. Ensures consistency and compliance with regulatory and The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements, CMS credentialing requirements, the hospitals’ Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, procedures and time frames. Ensures compliance with individual clinical departmental staffing plans. Acts as a resource for Credentialing Specialist staff providing guidance on data entry, database maintenance, processing of initial and reappointment applications. Identifies system and individual issues; participates in problem solving and final resolutions. Ensures consistent and timely preparation of findings for review by the Credentials Committee.
