About The Position

Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Medical Staff Coordinator I for our Medical Staff Department who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing. As a Medical Staff Coordinator I you will: Initiate and coordinate the acquisition and receipt of all credentialing documentation from assigned providers; provides follow-up and problem resolution as required. Act as point of contact for all matters associated with the credentialing; troubleshoots and resolves problems and issues as they arise. Collaborate to develop and maintain a comprehensive credentialing database and prepares reports and summaries as appropriate Obtain and Maintain primary source verifications. Obtain and Monitor current clinical competency evaluations and peer review. Ensure compliance with Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and Credential Manual with regard to credentialing process in accordance with Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies. Participate in departmental performance improvement and core process activities. Assist in development of work flow processes/procedures to ensure that all credentialing and accreditation processes are completed in accordance to relevant regulation, policies, and standards Participate in file audits, delegated credentialing, Schedules, coordinates, and facilitates credentialing/accreditation committee proceedings; provides follow-up and problem resolution regarding committee matters as appropriate. Manage and Support assigned departmental operations or other Committee meetings. Contribute to special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or higher education required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in confidential health care/credentialing position and/or two years’ experience in a related field.
  • Experience in Credentialing software, Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

Nice To Haves

  • Certified in Professional Credentialing Specialist preferred achievement of certification within five years of date of hire.
