About The Position

Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center a member of Trinity Health Of New England is looking for a Medical Secretary to join our radiation therapy team. Our vision is to provide state-of-the-art healthcare to those within our local communities, creating a positive impact for each individual that walks through our doors. The Medical Secretary is responsible for secretarial and clerical duties to ensure the efficient operations for the department. This will include answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, procedures and radiology exams and reviewing patient's information to determine urgency of appointment. This position prepares and maintains charts and obtains pre-certifications, authorizations for treatments and exams. In addition, completes varied administrative support including composing letters, data entry and filing. Requirements

  • Associate Degree and/or Medical Secretary/equivalent on-the-job experience
  • Minimum of one-year experience in hospital, medical environment, or health related field
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
