About The Position

Medical Scribes work alongside healthcare providers (physicians, PAs, NPs) in the Emergency Department, documenting patient visits into the electronic medical record system as they occur. Essential Scribe offers a paid position with paid training, providing valuable clinical experience and an extensive understanding of medical terminology and clinical information. This role offers on-the-job clinical exposure and hours, making it ideal for individuals pursuing or interested in a career in healthcare. No prior experience is required, as Essential Scribe provides a thorough and supportive training program, ongoing continuing education, and a mentorship-rich environment. Scribes appreciate the exposure to numerous cases, the knowledge gained, and the supportive community among fellow scribes and medical staff.

Requirements

• College degree, or current enrollment in a 2-4 year program
• Minimum of 2-4 shifts a week
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to clearly communicate, orally and in writing
• Responsible and mature individual with a passion for healthcare and learning
• Strong organizational skills
• Minimum typing speed of 65 WPM
• Comfortable with computers
