About The Position

CareDx offers products, testing services, and digital healthcare solutions along the pre- and post-transplant patient journey, and is the leading provider of genomics-based information for transplant patients. The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) for Cell Therapy & Transplant (CTT) will collaborate directly with the Medical Director and other cross functional stakeholders to support initiation & management of a pivotal clinical study for AlloHeme, a blood based NGS relapse prediction test for post bone marrow transplant AML & MDS patients. Additionally, the MSL will be responsible for scientific exchange and advice- seeking with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in bone marrow and cell therapy transplant. Once the AlloHeme test is commercially available, the MSL will educate physicians and other key stakeholders at transplant centers about the available data and the clinical value of the AlloHeme test. In addition to AlloHeme, the MSL will be involved in establishing research collaborations and engaging with KOLs to support additional product launches including molecular testing for post cell therapy monitoring. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape CareDx’s market entry into Cell Therapy & Transplant! The ideal candidate has experience supporting clinical studies and communicating with hematologist/oncologists KOLs. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential for this role which will be remote based. Significant travel is required to attend scientific conferences, visit sites participating in research and to engage with KOLs.

Requirements

  • Health care professionals with relevant clinical sciences knowledge in oncology will be considered: Pharm D, PhD, or MD.
  • 3-5 plus years of work experience in bone marrow transplantation and/or oncology
  • Experience in collaborating with research staff and key opinion leaders on clinical trials (sponsored and investigator initiated)
  • Experience in drafting impactful case studies, conference abstracts/ posters and publications
  • Outstanding oral presentation skills including ability to clearly present clinical data and address clinical & scientific questions related to CareDx CTT products
  • Experience in establishing strong, collaborative working relationships with clinicians and with internal stakeholder functions (e.g. Sales, Marketing, Regulatory, R&D) and external customers
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and collaborative work style
  • This is a remote based role with preference to those living in central or west coast US. Significant travel will be required (up to 50%)

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in MSL role preferred and/or the introduction of new clinical laboratory tests preferred
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines is a plus
  • Knowledge of molecular biology and immunology helpful

Responsibilities

  • Support CareDx sponsored clinical trial(s) alongside clinical operations
  • Develop strong and productive working relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) in the field of bone marrow transplantation and cell therapy to introduce CareDx, share recent data readouts and to gather market insights
  • Partner with medical director and biostats team in writing and submitting abstracts and publications to highlight test performance and clinical utility
  • Help to identify and support investigator-initiated studies in support of company research priorities
  • Communicate existing unmet clinical needs and how CareDx in development products will help to meet these needs
  • Help analyze, interpret, and clarify test results of commercially available CTT tests in conjunction with other clinical data
  • Assist new product development in defining unmet needs, product performance requirements, and launch plans
  • Provide clinical support for Customer Service inquiries and complaints
  • Participate in Advisory Board meetings with KOLs
  • Support company initiatives at clinical and scientific meetings
  • Function as a clinical liaison and resource to payer and insurance groups
