GLP Attorneys is seeking a Medical Records Specialist to join our Burlington office in a full-time, in-office role, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Requirements

  • demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and interacts with colleagues and providers in a professional manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required
  • accurate typing skills of at least 50 words per minute
  • strong organization and time management
  • attention to detail
  • sound problem-solving skills
  • the ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • A solid understanding of clerical procedures and recordkeeping is essential.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Prior clerical experience is required
  • strong written communication skills
  • be comfortable communicating with clients and healthcare providers
  • be able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a team-focused environment

Nice To Haves

  • a college degree is preferred
  • experience working with medical records or in a law firm setting is strongly desired
  • Experience in plaintiff personal injury law is a plus

Responsibilities

  • obtaining and managing medical records
  • entering and maintaining accurate data in case management systems
  • ensuring the confidentiality and security of medical information in compliance with HIPAA and HITECH
  • applying RCW guidelines related to the cost and release of medical records and billing
  • proactively following up with providers while maintaining clear communication with legal team members
