Requirements

  • Prior experience as a Medical Records Director or in medical records/health information management (required)
  • Strong knowledge of medical records regulations, privacy standards, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Professional communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the organization, maintenance, and confidentiality of all medical records
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations related to medical records
  • Managing chart audits, record completion, and documentation accuracy
  • Supporting survey readiness and responding to record-related requests
  • Collaborating with clinical leadership, nursing, and administrative teams
  • Maintaining systems for timely record retrieval, storage, and release of information
