Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in medical records management, preferably within a long-term care facility or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT), and healthcare documentation standards
  • Previous experience in ordering supplies and compiling purchase orders

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in health information management or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of medical records by verifying information and resolving discrepancies
  • Compile, organize, and maintain residents' medical records in both electronic and paper formats
  • Keeping the Central Supply area fully stocked and keeping units stocked
  • Ordering supplies and compiling purchase orders
  • Functioning as a liaison between the Nursing Department and vendor when necessary
  • Audits for timeliness of charting by physician, physical therapist, nurses, etc., and notifies appropriate individuals
