About The Position

Medical Records Assistant Children’s Clinics is seeking a Full-Time Medical Records Assistant. Located in beautiful Tucson, Arizona, Children’s Clinics is a welcoming, integrated, outpatient medical facility serving Southern Arizona’s children and their families. We provide over 25 medical and dental specialty clinics, primary care, behavioral health and outpatient rehabilitative therapy. The Clinic is centrally located and easily accessible. Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information while delivering exceptional customer service. Performs clerical work including sorting, assembling, and scanning documents utilizing an EMR/EHR system. High school diploma or general education degree and a minimum of 1 year or 2 years preferred related medical records experience and or medical related training. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • One year related experience and/or training required
  • Skill and familiarity with Practice Management Systems
  • Skill and knowledge of maintaining an EHR system; NextGen knowledge preferred
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient data according to HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to assist clinical operations with all medical records processes
  • Employees are required to maintain a current Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Proof of a current fingerprint clearance card must be received within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years preferred related medical records experience and or medical related training
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • RHIT or RHIA certification preferred.
  • Experience with EMR/EHR (NextGen) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the completeness and availability of all patient medical records as needed
  • Maintains medical records functions to include pulling, copying, filing, assembling, and retrieving patient records
  • Ensures releases of information are HIPAA compliant.
  • Processes confidential releases of information and records the names in a confidential manner
  • Communicates with staff and providers
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned
