McClure Post Acute is seeking a dedicated Medical Records Assistant to join our team for the PM Shift. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity, privacy, and organization of our resident health information systems. Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience in Medical Records or Health Information Management (preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and general computer applications.
  • Organizational Mastery: Exceptional ability to organize, plan, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion: A deep understanding of medical privacy laws and a commitment to maintaining user ID and password security.
  • Communication: Excellent rapport-building skills to work cooperatively with inter-departmental personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Records Management: Collect, assemble, check, and file resident charts. Ensure all information—including nurses' notes, assessments, lab reports, and x-rays—is accurately filed into resident records.
  • Quality Control: Review charts for completeness and ensure incomplete records are returned to the appropriate department for correction.
  • Compliance & Privacy: Strictly maintain resident confidentiality and adhere to all Privacy Rules (HIPAA). Manage the authorized release of information and maintain precise registries for admissions and discharges.
  • Departmental Support: Assist the MDS Coordinator with scheduling assessments and support the Medical Records Consultant in organizing department workflows.
  • Information Retrieval: Retrieve and deliver medical records (manually or electronically) for authorized personnel, including physicians, nurses, and government agencies.
  • Administrative Flow: Batch resident information into the computer system, answer telephone inquiries, and prepare written correspondence as necessary.
