About The Position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join their Eye Department Frontline team. This role is a Partner for Good, aiming to make an impact on patient care and experience. The position encompasses both Call Center and Front Desk responsibilities. In the Call Center, the primary duty is rapidly and accurately answering and responding to incoming telephone calls from patients and/or employer groups, adhering to department-specific agent expectations and guidelines. For the Front Desk, the main responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting co-pays, scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals, and supporting departmental clerical duties. Both aspects of the role require providing quality service through timely and courteous assistance to patients and employer groups, maintaining patient confidentiality, delivering excellent customer service, completing tasks professionally, supporting process improvement, identifying self and department in phone interactions, accepting additional related tasks, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. The Eye Department team consists of 3 clinicians, seeing approximately 20-40 patients daily across all ages and a diverse community. The successful candidate will be cross-trained to assist in Primary and Specialty Care. The team is described as friendly, engaged, and enjoys fun events throughout the year, such as holiday parties and summer picnics.

Requirements

  • 6 months related experience
  • Accurate computer/keyboarding skills
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
  • Must be proficient in the operation of the following types of equipment: telephone and headsets, PC, printer, photo copier and fax machine

Responsibilities

  • Rapidly and accurately answer and respond to incoming telephone calls from patients and/or employer groups (Call Center)
  • Meet department specific agent expectations regarding measurement and follow the defined guidelines and processes of the department (Call Center)
  • Provide support to greet patients (Front Desk)
  • Collect co-pays (Front Desk)
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and referrals (Front Desk)
  • Support departmental clerical duties (Front Desk)
  • Provide support to the department/site ensuring quality service through timely and courteous assistance
  • Provide service support to patients and employers groups who request our care
  • Maintain patient confidentiality to protect patient rights
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Complete defined work in a timely and professional manner
  • Support on-going process improvement and organizational/department changes
  • Identify self and department in all phone interactions
  • Accept additional related tasks
