About The Position

Girling Health Care is seeking experienced 485/Physician Order Tracking Clerks.
Position is 100% in the Brooklyn office. M-F, 9-5.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for entire process of physician order tracking and provides ongoing support for the professional staff.

Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree.
• At least one year of clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare.
• Excellent knowledge of telephone etiquette and computer proficiency
• Good organizational skills and ability to effectively communicate with physicians and all levels of staff within the agency.

Nice To Haves

• Valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible to print, mail, fax and track all interim orders and 485’s in accordance with agency policy.
• Enters order information into the McKesson system upon receiving signed orders
• Responsible for accuracy of data entry
• Responsible to run weekly reports for outstanding orders (485 and interim orders)
• Establish tracking system to follow-up with outstanding physician orders when orders are not received and responsible to re-fax/re-mail orders.
• Reports to designated person when issues with outstanding orders arise.
• Responsible to inform CM/COC of changes of physician information
• Reports weekly to Physician Orders Supervisor with unresolved issues/concerns.
• Maintains accurate record keeping in a confidential manner, as per agency policies and procedures.
• Field work involving travel to doctor’s offices/hospitals to obtain signatures for problematic/pending orders and to pick up and/or drop off orders as needed in order to ensure compliance with obtaining timely signed orders.
• Observes client’s rights and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Performs other duties as needed.
• Demonstrates sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding suspected violation of corporate compliance regulations.
• Reports all suspected violations to supervisor, Compliance Officer or Compliance Hotline.
