About The Position

The Ohio State University is currently seeking faculty at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor rank for a variety of roles in the areas of basic and translational research.

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute expanded in December 2014 to become the 3rd largest cancer hospital in the U.S. The extraordinary success of this new 398-bed state-of-the-art hospital has resulted in remarkable clinical growth and robust research portfolio.

Requirements

• PhD or MD/PhD required
• Considerable post-doctoral experience in basic research required
• considerable experience in oncology required
• understanding of key components of grant writing and obtaining funding in support of research required
• experience with administration of funded research required.
• Requires successful completion of a background check.
• Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• proven ability to write scientific reports and publish in scientific, peer-reviewed journals preferred

Responsibilities

• Contribute to graduate and medical education through teaching, mentoring, and curriculum development.
• Participate in departmental and institutional service, including committee work and strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the OSUCCC – James, including basic scientists, clinicians, and translational researchers.
• Develop and lead an independent, externally funded research program in medical oncology or cancer genetics.
• Publish impactful research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences
