About The Position

ACLC is seeking a qualified Medical Office Clerk to provide medical administrative and support services to a military organization located on Eglin AFB FL and Hurlburt Field FL. This position is contingent upon contract award. Duties and Responsibilities: The Medical Office Clerk supports the organization by providing administrative and clerical support in a clinical setting. Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Greets patients/visitors at a front desk, information center, or office setting. Answers main office phone line. Directs telephone calls to appropriate section for assistance. Takes messages as required. Arranges and schedules medical appointments and determines patient eligibility for services. Determine patient eligibility, schedule appointments, relay general instructions to patients, or make referrals to other sections. Obtains updates and files medical records as needed. Organizes and researches patient records, extracts needed information, and review records for completeness, accuracy, and consistency within established guidelines. Initiates and locates patient medical records as needed. Obtains documentation as requested by healthcare providers (test results, or documentation not yet filed in records). Performs other administrative and clerical duties in support of medical care and operational support. Creates appointment schedules and templates in patient appointment computer system. Ensures arrival of medical records prior to appointments. Conducts end-of-day process at close of business and resolves any delinquent or pending appointments in computer system. Qualifications Candidates must meet the following qualifications/certifications. High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency. At least 2 years of experience in medical office setting and familiarity with medical terminology. Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Contractor shall have the following mandatory skills and working knowledge in the following areas: Must adhere to the HIPAA and the Privacy Act, as well as pertinent DHAPIs and OIs. General office administrative and clerical skills to perform receptionist duties and answer telephones. Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA), MHS Genesis, and Citrix applications. Composite Health Care Systems (CHCS). Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS). Aeromedical Service Information Management System (ASIMS). Aeromedical Information Management Waiver Tracking System (AIMWTS). Physical Examination Processing Program (PEPP). Military Filing System – by sponsor social security, terminal digit order, color-coded, and blocked filing system. Contents of a military medical record, layout, sections, family member's prefix designation, forms used in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF), and the medical record tracking procedures.
