About The Position

We are seeking a Nepali Medical Interpreter to provide high‑quality interpretation that supports clear, compassionate communication between providers, patients, and families. This fulltime, full‑benefits position is central to our commitment to equity, dignity, and belonging for all members of our community. Interpreters may also support the Language Access Services department in areas such as training and education, documentation, community or committee work, or other initiatives. Requirements

  • High proficiency in Nepali and English.
  • Completion of a 60‑hour medical interpreter training.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and cultural humility.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
  • Ability to work in dynamic clinical environments with professionalism and compassion aligned with UVM Health values.
  • Minimum one year of professional community interpreting.
