About The Position

Larkin Health System is an integrated healthcare delivery system accredited by the Joint Commission with locations in South Miami, Hialeah and Hollywood, Florida. Under the direction of the Business Office Director, the Medical insurance collector I is responsible for ensuring timely reimbursement of claims, and consistent cash flow. Is responsible for investigating instances of incomplete claims and appropriately corrects them prior to resubmitting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Medical or Healthcare collector
• Proficiency in medical terminology and medical billing procedures.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance companies.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Meet deadline, quality and production standards established through monthly KPIs.

Nice To Haves

• Associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare administration or related major (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree)

Responsibilities

• Insurance follow up on accounts for both inpatient and outpatient claims.
• Review remittance advice to verify proper reimbursement.
• Identify and resolve any issues impacting proper claim’s adjudication.
• Collaborate with medical records to obtain the necessary documentation for claims processing.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing and collection regulations and guidelines
• Work in collaboration with the billing team to reach monthly collection goals.
• All other duties as assigned
