About the Position: This position is located in the Department of Medicine, Sleep Laboratory Clinic at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado. Requirements

  • US Citizens
  • Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, including in center and home sleep apnea testing; diagnostic and therapeutic interventions; AND operating, monitoring and maintaining equipment.
  • FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.

Nice To Haves

  • A certified Polysomnography Technologist, Preferred Registration by the Board of Polysomnography Technologists (BRPT) is highly required.

Responsibilities

  • Independently prepares, calibrates, interfaces, and operates all equipment used in polysomnographic procedures.
  • Operates polysomnographic recording instruments to obtain an electroencephalographic record of patients sleep.
  • Prepare the patient for tests reassuring the patient, providing basic education concerning the nature of the testing, allaying fears, or misconceptions.
  • Makes minor repairs and performs operator level maintenance to the equipment used for sleep disorders evaluation.
  • Post calibrates all the equipment used for the polysomnographic procedure.
  • Independently interprets data obtained from all night recording.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
