The Department of Emergency Medicine, one of the largest in the country, seeks a dynamic and strategic physician leader to serve as Medical Director. Our faculty staff the hospitals within the Mount Sinai Health System (the Mount Sinai Hospital, Mount Sinai Queens, Mount Sinai Morningside, Mount Sinai West, Mount Sinai Brooklyn, Mount Sinai South Nassau, as well as affiliated hospitals including Elmhurst Hospital Center, Queens Hospital Center, and Richmond University Medical Center. The Emergency Medicine Service Line has almost 240 faculty, more than 100 physician assistants and nurse practitioners, and treat more than 600K patients annually. The Department is ranked number 3 in research funding from the National Institutes of Health, is home to 3 emergency medicine residencies, 8 fellowships (including one in Pediatric Emergency Medicine), and is affiliated with 2 pediatric residencies. Mount Sinai Brooklyn is a community hospital located in Midwood, Brooklyn. The Emergency Department spans 6,865 square feet and manages an annual patient volume of approximately 40,465, with an admission rate of about 23%. The Medical Director will develop short and long-term plans for on-going improvement of the clinical, operational, and administrative quality of the department. This role will include clinical leadership, quality assurance, compliance, administrative oversight, staff supervision, and clinical time commitment. This individual will champion high-quality, patient-centered care, and drive alignment across diverse practice environments.
