About The Position

Greenberg Traurig (GT), a global law firm, has a dynamic full-time employment opportunity for a junior to mid-level Patent Associate or Patent Agent to join their growing medical device practice in Boston. The ideal candidate will be admitted to the patent bar and have 1-4 years of experience with all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and counseling related to medical technologies. Prior firm experience is required. Candidates must have a strong technical background in biomedical, mechanical, robotics, electrical/computer engineering or equivalent discipline. The position requires residence in the Boston office. Candidates must also have an excellent academic record, superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral), a demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service and a creative and strategic approach to prosecution. Associate candidates must be admitted to the Massachusetts Bar or eligible for admission to the Massachusetts Bar. Requirements

Admitted to the patent bar
1-4 years of experience with all aspects of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution and counseling related to medical technologies
Prior firm experience
Strong technical background in biomedical, mechanical, robotics, electrical/computer engineering or equivalent discipline
Residence in the Boston office
Excellent academic record
Superior organizational and communication skills (written and oral)
Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service
Creative and strategic approach to prosecution
For Associate candidates: Admitted to the Massachusetts Bar or eligible for admission to the Massachusetts Bar

Responsibilities

Collaborating with clients to identify innovation and design strategies for patent protection
Drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to medical devices and diagnostics
Managing complex patent prosecution dockets
Conducting patent landscape analysis and freedom to operate assessments
Advising clients regarding patentability, validity, and infringement
Performing IP due diligence in connection with VC investments and mergers and acquisitions
