About The Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful Medical Collector with a minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and collections. The ideal candidate is dependable, has strong communication skills, and brings an assertive, results-driven approach to collecting outstanding balances.

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in A/R analysis, medical collections, denial management, and EOB review.
Knowledge of billing and collection procedures in a high-volume environment.
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
Proactive, assertive, and motivated to drive collections performance.
Experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding and familiarity with medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

Proficiency with relevant software systems is a plus (WebPT, CMD, QuickBooks).

Responsibilities

Research and resolve unpaid claims using monthly aging reports and multiple systems and payer portals.
Manage assigned accounts and oversee the full collection cycle to reduce aging balances.
Complete denial management, including appeals, reprocessing, and documentation gathering.
Contact patients, guarantors, and attorneys regarding balances; educate them on benefits and payment responsibilities.
Log follow-ups, reminders, and updates accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with internal departments to ensure proper payment posting and adjustments.
Maintain compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
