About The Position

The Patient Accounts Rep is primarily responsible for time timely follow up of insurance claims until the final disposition. This would include follow up on billed claims, researching and resolving denied claims, and working with other departments as necessary. This role should have administrative and critical thinking skills with the ability to multi-task and the ability to use your judgement on complex account problems. This role must also have excellent customer service when answering questions and finding resolutions to billing issues. This role uses Excel spreadsheets and must understand credit balances and insurance verification. This position assists the Business Office Director with special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a high school graduate or equivalent, preferably with an Associates Degree in Accounting or Healthcare Administration.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts receivable or billing department, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Excel or any combination of education, training or experience in a business office environment.
  • May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
